How quickly will I see improvement in my NBME practice scores?

Most students see noticeable improvement within 4-6 weeks of following the program. Often your NBME self-assessment scores will start to climb even sooner as you implement our high-yield strategies. Can I switch tutors if I don't gel with mine?

Yes. We want you to have the best possible experience. If for any reason you feel you're not clicking with your tutor's style, we can pair you with another tutor at no extra cost. Our team of Step 1 tutors are all excellent, and we'll find the right match for you.

What materials or books will I need?

We provide everything you need. Our program includes all necessary study materials – from review notes and question banks to practice exams. You do not have to buy additional books or subscriptions (and we often advise against using too many resources). All you need is a computer and internet connection to access our online materials and sessions.

How are the tutoring sessions structured?

Typically, sessions are 1–2 hours long. In a typical session, your tutor might spend the first part reviewing key concepts or difficult topics you struggled with in your homework or practice questions. Then you'll work through practice questions together (learning how to dissect Step 1-style clinical vignettes and eliminate wrong answers). Lastly, you'll go over test-taking strategies and set goals/assignments for the next session. The structure is flexible based on your needs – if you prefer more content review or more quizzing, we tailor it accordingly.

Do you offer in-person tutoring?

Our program is primarily online one-on-one tutoring, which allows us to work with students nationwide (and even internationally). However, we do have in-person tutoring available in select areas for those who prefer face-to-face. The online format is very interactive – we use screen-sharing, whiteboards, and other tools to simulate an in-person experience as much as possible.
